Official Patch/Hotfix Notes (ERA Edition)

I'll use this thread to post any Hotfixes or Patches that the Admin's have recently implemented. It will also include a section for Known issues we're currently attempting to fix. This is a work in progress so bare with me as I type things up. The first post will be a bit of a longer one as it will contain fixes we've been working on the past 3 weeks.

Implemented Fixes as of May 27th, 2016

  • Source of crippling lag after our major DSP code upgrade was identified and resolved.
  • Long-standing bug with monster difficulty has been identified and resolved. (All enemies were 30% stronger for a few months there.)
  • Weapon Skills as well as Donation Weapon Skills now have correct modifiers and should no longer miss.
  • Ranged Weapon delay fixed.
  • NQ Landking spawn behavior has been returned to normal.
  • Fafnir was returned to proper difficulty.
  • Leviathan Prime has been restored to proper difficulty.
  • ZNM spawn conditions have been restored.
  • ZNM loot table's have been restored for the most part, will be adding the few missing items soon.
  • Dynamis zoning in bug which caused players to lock up and be booted from zone has been resolved.
  • Scholar NPC Erlene has been repaired and should now properly handle the SCH Unlock as well as AF1 Klimaform quests.
  • Momiji vendor has been restored to normal functionality.
  • Blue Magic spells Sporific & Blood Drain should now function correctly.
  • Fixed Jailer of Faith not using magic.
  • Fixed Jailer of Fortitude not reflecting magic correctly.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed mentors to use field of valor books.
  • Fixed bug in Dynamis-Xarcabard that caused the 15 NM eyes to spawn in the wrong positions.
  • Fixed magic doll agro'ing sight, it should now be back to magic only.


  • Selbina Clothcraft vendor Tilala added. (It has 2 pages worth of items, talk to multiple times to cycle pages.)
  • Selbina Fishing vendor Graegham added. (It has 2 pages worth of items, talk to multiple times to cycle pages.)
  • Goldsmithing vendor Ellard has been added. (It has 2 pages worth of items, talk to multiple times to cycle pages.)
  • Added Storms of Fate questline/battle (completed)
  • Added Apocalypse Nigh questline/battle (rewards still being added)
  • New content such as BCNM and ENM's are currently being coded, will post more information about this soon.

  • We ask that players please remove their old github tickets if they've been resolved, sometimes we forget.

  • onEventFinish bug (This one is affecting BCNM's, Quest's, Mission's, it's a big one) [Actively being worked on]
  • Crashing bug related to dying/losing BCNM's (this include's Limbus) [Actively being worked on]
  • Enmity isn't 100% functioning the way it should be (Causing monsters to go unclaimed/reset, also overall agro holding issues.) [Actively being worked on]
  • Powerlevel bug - Curing members outside party causes 0xp for party members. [Actively being worked on]
  • Monster's with Double Attack passive have 100% proc rate (feels like hundred fists) [Actively being worked on]
  • Certain monster's are hitting for inflated numbers every 5-10 attacks. [Actively being worked on]
  • Certain Blue Magic spells are not functioning correctly. [Actively being worked on]
  • Grumblix is not properly removing Augments. [Actively being worked on]
  • Dynamis Statues/Monsters are not spawning consistently on every reset. [Actively being worked on]
  • Kirin is spawning more then 1 God Add at a time usually between 1-3. [Actively being worked on]
  • Custom Relic (BLU, DNC, COR, SCH) weapons are missing stats and visuals. [Attempting to get into contact with creator to retrieve custom scripts/files.]
  • RNG Unlock quest bug related to killing the tiger instead of watching it die as the event requires. (Please read your quests)
  • Brutus the NPC for Chocobo & BST quests is malfunctioning and is being looked into.
  • Masterkey is not properly being awarded after the Mission 2-3 BCNM fight (take screenshots after your win with proof of death and party members, and make a ticket)
  • Qufim Island mentor shop is missing.
  • Summoner pet animations are not correct.
  • Blue Mage ability 'Chain Affinity' only working with certain Blue Magic Spells.
  • Warrior meritted ability 'Tomahawk' may not be functioning properly.
  • Dragoon Wyvern's 'Healing Breath' is not properly functioning.
  • Donation WS Jishnu's Radiance has 100% miss rate.
  • Apocalypse Nigh rewards are being added to the NPC.

Implemented Fixes as of June 11th, 2016

  • Masterkey will now be awarded after the Mission 2-3 BCNM fight.
  • Ix'Aern DRK now works as normal.
  • Technically not a fix but a band-aid, Emotes have been disabled to prevent client crashes.
  • Donation WS Jishnu's Radiance has been restored.
  • Jacaranda Lumber recipe has been fixed and is back to being level 103 instead of 101.
  • Placeholder Text.


  • Forums have started to be re-done by our new (TM) lagosaurus
  • Custom BLU/DNC/SCH/COR Relic's have been re-coded and re-added to the database.
  • Fafnir now drops one Nidhogg Scale at a 50% drop rate (TH4) will increase this.
  • All Custom ZNM drops have been re-added.
  • Wivre mobs in Bhaflau Thickets have been re-added with new interesting skills and new shiny loot tables.
  • A whole bunch of BLU spells have been fixed, will post list once I receive it.
  • Blue Magic spells Queasyshroom, Feather Storm, Poison Breath, Disseverment should now function correctly.
  • Blue Magic spells Radiant Breath, Pinecone Bomb, Bad Breath should now function correctly.
  • Jormungand's loot table has been updated with the new Toreador Ring Item.
  • Toreador Ring recipe has been re-added with the new ingredient.

Implemented Fixes as of June 28th, 2016

  • Players can now get to Sarameya, Tinnin, and Tyger islands without a KI.
  • Kirin is spawning more then 1 God Add at a time usually between 1-3. [Fixed]
  • Applied a band-aid fix to Maat. Does not solve the core issue plaguing him but will make it possible for newer players to win.
  • Craft recipes that allowed players to go over the caps have been lowered to crafting cap value's.
  • Lotus Katana have been item modded with TH, with this change their augments have been removed as it's redundant.
  • Qutrub's models should no longer continuously vanish/blink.
  • Disseverment/Verticle Cleave should now properly close Darkness. Cannonball should properly close Light.
  • Disseverment/Verticle Cleave/Cannonball can now properly be used with Sneak Attack.
  • WS's are currently being tweaked and tested to balance them across weapons and jobs. [Actively being worked on]
  • Bastok 6-1 '???' in Western Altepa Desert should now spawn properly.
  • Bastok 6-2 NM Salamander's level has been reduced to 65.
  • Increased the rate at which your jug pet regens HP when using the BST ability Stay.
  • Fixed a bug that let you get resisted while using Elemental Seal.
  • Enmity cap has been raised, this should make the enmity situation 80% better by itself.

  • Apocalypse Nigh rewards have been added to Gilgamesh.
  • Apocalypse Nigh Earrings can now be traded to Runga-Kopunga if you have done the Fail Badge KI quest to cycle your earrings.
  • NM of the Week has made its return. Go to Ru' Lude Gardens AH.
  • Lamina NM has been added to the game.
  • Kusha/Lava Ring set bonus now works.
  • All Non-NM monsters in La Vaule [ S ] now share the same drop table.
  • WHM Relic Mjollnir has had some custom stats added. +5 MND, +1 Refresh, +15 Cure Potency. [Actively being tested for balance.]
  • Added Mentor Move speed in all city sub-zones.
  • Raji, Shomera, Honorine and Runga-Kopunga in Lower Jeuno now spawn in the right locations, visible.
  • When exiting Ru'Lude Gardens Mog House, you will now be spit out next to the Auction House.
  • Ix'Aern MNK, DRG and DRK now all spawn and work as they should.
  • Grumblix now asks for new items, much diversity, many yay, very hypu.
  • Grumblix now removes augments again, much augments, many gone, very poof.
  • Like The Wind is a bit more fun now, also the cutscene has been fixed and is skippable.

  • DRK AF Feet quest now works properly.
  • Warrior meritted ability 'Tomahawk' now reduced defense until it can be fully re-worked to work like retail.
  • Enmity should now be a lot more reliable CE/VE caps increased, decay increased, CureV fixed, Trick Attack SC DMG applied enmity properly.
  • SMN pet ability distance fixed.
  • Mog House Moogle along with Exp Buff Moogle now both work in Port Jeuno.

  • All NM/HNM Rankings have been re-applied to each individual script and should now increase the kill numbers properly.
  • A player TP calculation update has been applied (a moderate buff to all players).
  • A new method of trading Divine Might Earrings/CoP Rings/Apocalypse Nigh earrings has been implemented Link here.

It has been awhile since this thread has been updated. I'll try to be as thorough as possible.

Implemented Fixes from December 20th, 2016 through February 27th, 2017

  • Snakeye/+1 now has its correct working Latent.
  • SAM AF/+1 Head and Relic/+1 Hands now properly increase the amount of TP gained while using Meditate.
  • THF AF/+1 Feet now properly increase the duration of Flee.
  • Pandemonium Warden should no longer crash clients.
  • Mobs now all are properly aligned in the Database in terms MJob/SJob/CmbSkill.(Monks will now double attack, Other mobs that shouldn't double attack every round no longer do. CmbDelays and DmgMulti have been adjusted to all the mobs with a monk class.)
  • Ix'Aern(MNK) will now properly update the re-spawn time for the ??? after every kill.(Had to wait for a server crash for the ??? to re-spawn prior.)
  • The Engraved Tablet will no longer allow players to exit the island while Sarameya is spawned. You can, however come across onto the island if someone is late or a death/home-point occurs. Also his defenses have been increased 175 DEF / 50 MDEF as well as 120 MEVA. (Cerb: 322 DEF 200 MEVA)
  • Disabled the events that take place while using the teleport inside of the Promyvion zones. Kill Memory Receptacles, step onto the platform and warp to the next floor with out the Cut-scene removing the chance for a black screen. Loco has also added a similar script to the Ferry NPC in Whitegate. No longer need to wait for the boat to get to Nashmau removing the chance of getting stuck on the boat.
  • Fixed the Sanction NPC at the fountain in Whitegate.
  • Dynamis resets properly, no more bugged spawns.
  • Limbus was fixed awhile back.
  • Fixed Chigoes to where they now die from critical attacks or landed weapon-skills.
  • Fixed a lot of NM scripts to match retail including respective 2hrs and En-effects as well as rage mods.(Sky gods, Mini gods, Roc, Simurgh, KA)[Actively being worked on. More scripts to come]
  • More Latent ID Fixes. (Rune Gear)
  • Fixed level sync where you can no longer lock in a lvl.
  • Fixed alliance dissolving where it no longer crashes the server.
  • Fixed bug with COR and DRG resetting abilities.
  • Fixed bug with items being stuck in trade windows.
  • PW/Tiamat/Jorm scripts updated.
  • lv 99 mobs are back to the pre-99 capped levels except the worms in Zeruhn Mines, so people can still skillup.
  • Removed the Charm from Danse Macabre(Gravedigger), Luminous Drape(UFO and JoL) and Brainjack( PW) as they were crashing the server. Replaced with single target and Aoe Terror's plus a target hate reset to mimic charm.(can't just do nothing , too easy)




    Added Content

  • Exantius' Pandemonium Warden has been implemented. Still in testing phase. [Actively being worked on]
  • A Custom Dark Ixion has been added. Retail drops with a 2 other unobtainable items added, Sturm's Report and Rose Strap and a chance for a second Tail. [Battle mechanics actively being worked on]
  • @tele has been added(requires the gate crystal, Recalls are included. Only usable from town on any job.)
  • @mk has had a make over. Allows you to now just target any door and type @mk. No more finding the ID and manually entering it.
  • Warp is has released his latest mini-game. Get out and join the Gob mafia and find those footprints. Each one gives a gil reward, the more you find the more rewards you build towards. Quest begins in the Bazaar zone from Grumblix. Explore guys! [Actively being worked on]
  • DSP has finally made all the necessary changes to allow me to re-implement Beaucedine Glacier [S]. I've also made sure all mobs aggro properly, spawn properly, and work properly. Added all missing mob-skills allowing Blue Mages to learn Sub-zero smash and Triumphant Roar.
  • All the weapons, whether they're available with our current working KSNM list or not regarding weapon-skill points( Ex. Destroyers) are now unlocked by default since the code doesn't work to unlock them.
  • New Tier and HQ system for crafting:
    Default is set to 3.5% for any craft that is less than 0 - 11 levels of your skill. (T0)
    between 11 and thirty levels over you have a 12% or (T1)
    between 31 and 50 you have a 35% chance or (T2)
    between 51 and 80 you have a 60% chance or (T3)
    between 81 and 99 you have a 75% chance or (T4)

    For the tiers of hq you have a 75% chance of it be hq1 a 18.75% chance of hq2 and a 6.25% chance of it being hq3
    Everything rounds down so new moon/darksday/opposite direction is -2 and fullmoon/lightsday/sameday/strong direction is +2 ontop of the +5
    from gear. a total of 107 max on most crafts not including alchemy or cooking.(they go higher with weapons) only thing really t0 are 97+
  • New Recipes: Silk Cloth, Velvet Cloth, Rainbow Cloth (Mass Production) - http://www.ffera.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3831

    Upcoming Content

  • Sistern, as of tonight is flying out and back on leave. He will be working on both Sandworm and a custom way to earn donation ws's as he feels people shouldn't be excluded from having them just because one doesn't have the cash needed to donate.
  • Loco will be looking at new and improved moogle buffs that still don't take from endgame activities but are more efficient for the others trying to exp.
  • I'll be continuing to fix broken stuff and add retail feels to the things we already have.

Implemented Fixes from February 27th, 2017 through March 10th, 2017



  • BLU Will be being looked at in the near future.
  • Custom Code will be removed from the skin trade ins/synths and also gone from ZNMs as per a working Sandworm.
  • Have a work around to reduce the duration of stun from Shoulder Tackle, working on a fix to make the chance of stun dependant on TP instead of stun duration as per retail.
  • Still dialing in 2hr's for the three mini HNM, Roc Simurgh and King Arthro.
  • Fixed Landkings spawn windows to work like retail.
  • Fixed Prudence and Hope as per retail.

    I'll be looking into more bugs now that ive free'd up more of my time from development work.





    Added Content

  • Im proud to present a working Sandworm! All drops are in actively and still adjusting modifiers for a balance with ERA.
  • Dark Ixion Ferrule synth has been added. Enjoy your Dabo's guys.

Implemented Fixes from March 10th, 2017 through March 17th, 2017



  • BLU Will be being looked at in the near future.
  • Fixed All 6 Chocobo NPCs to work in past. 1 in each of the cities and 1 at each of the recalls.
  • Fixed Moghouses in each of the three cities in the past.
  • /blockaid on/off now works. Will be removed upon death/zone/logout.. Stops any incoming action from a player outside your party or alliance.
  • /assist will now work on mobs to determine the target threat is on.
  • The Taurus mobs in Dynamis - Tavnazia will now spawn in the pack on top of their respective Eye. Would pop in the basement before and train the zone on their way to the person with hate on the Eye.
  • You will now be properly sent to your homepoint after the timer running our from a death. Preventing mass amounts of exp from being lost.
  • Changes to the way Invites are sent to and from players within the server has been change hopefully stopping party and alliance bugs and providing much better stability.
  • Increased the mob skill prepare time for Fulmination and Gates of Hades from 1.5 seconds to 2.5 seconds as per retail. You may now create a stun order of BLMs to properly handle these particular fights without taking dangerous damage.
  • Fixed Sandworm to spawn properly and randomly in one of his Retail zones on server start.
  • Both Sandworm and Dark Ixion will no longer appear in the same zone as they were last killed in indefinitely until a server restart. This change also makes it so they under no circumstances can reappear in the same zone on a day2/3/etc. [Actively being worked]
  • Sandworm will now strip all equipment when using the tp move Dustvoid as per retail. Looking into other mob skills that may not be coded or functioning incorrectly.
  • Gumblix and Pil will now accept a trade of 50k and an augmented Item in exchange for removal of the augment.

    I'll be looking into more bugs now that I've free'd up more of my time from development work.





    Added Content

  • Unlocked ALL 54 Regional Vendors as our playerbase isn't nearly high enough to properly influence these values. The three for Tavnazia will still require chapter 4 CoP tho.
  • Dark Ixion will now spawn in one of his 7 zones upon restart with retail positions as per the wiki, although will not need to be claimed by throwing an Ash.

    • Loco will be looking at new and improved moogle buffs that still don't take from endgame activities but are more efficient for the others trying to exp.
    • I'll be continuing to fix broken stuff and add retail feels to the things we already have.
    • I'll be looking at recoding Xarc. [S] and Castle O. [S} including their NMs and any notable drops that aren't already in the database.
    • Id like to get the ToAU Beastman kings working properly. Loco has some ideas for custom rewards.

Implemented Fixes from March 17th, 2017 through March 27th, 2017

Bug Fixes

  • BLU Will be being looked at in the near future.
  • Fixed trick attack and the way it works.. TA will be much easier to land and line up now. Although you wont be able to line up beyond 6 yalms. Must be under 6 yalms to properly distribute hate to the tank.
  • Disabled PUP from the moghouse menu. You may no longer switch into pup..All characters in the database have since been changed to another job if they were logged out on puppet.
  • Disabled the Black Coffin for now until the mission line is fixed. Was crashing the server upon defeat.
  • Fixed Argus and Leech King to use their scripts. Meaning it is 100% retail now.. 50/50 chance for argus or leech king to be up on start. 50/50 chance of either one to respawn 18-30 hours later.
  • Fixed a bug with the knight crabs and a day2 King Arthro not spawning.. If you were to kill the first knight crab before the last knight crab spawns then they script would bug out and KA wouldnt spawn.
  • Fixed Like the Wind ENM from playing stupid long CoP related cs upon success.
  • Fixed all Moogle locations that were missing. *
  • Fixed Acheron Kick to go through shadows and still cause DMG.
  • Fixed Dustvoid to properly remove all gear from the tank.
  • Added new Tiamat and Jormy scripts.. Hopefully this fixes them going forward. Thank you Exantius for the work.

I'll be looking into more bugs now that I've free'd up more of my time from development work.

*Some bug fixes may still be pending a server restart.. Since disabling puppet the server has been extremely stable. Coincidence?! I think not.. If we can hit the 5 day mark( new record for era?) then maybe consider a force restart depending on what else has been added.

  • NEW Moogle buffs.. They now buff 1-74 non-mentors for 45 minutes (wear upon zoning) 75 non-mentors 30 minutes (Wear upon zoning) and Mentors 1 hour (Wear upon zoning) mentors still have haste and str bonus' but evens the playing field server wide and ensures they will be used for their original intentions and buff exp parties on a low pop. server. Ty loco!

  • I Have Gurfurlur, Medusa and Gulool Ja Ja working near retail. :? The Adds however still need some work. :? Looking at adding the three Campaign Ops Head Pieces in exchange for one of these NMs drops.

  • NM of the Week is back! Loco will be giving me a crash course this week on how to update it and keep it going for everyone.
  • Loco redid all the warp npcs. This includes a check with a warning showing you your destination.. The Porter Moogles/World Shifter will now give you a warp scroll if you try to leave town and forget. The Imp in Rulude will be a Gigas and take you to Middle Delkfutt's Tower. I'm sure there is more i'm missing lol. Get out there and explore!

Upcoming Content
