Hey everyone! Welcome to Era! Here we'll help you get started on installing FFXI.

Below are all of the resources you will need to play.

what you will need:

Torrent software >>> (click me to obtain one if you dont already) <<<

>>> Era Install Resource Torrent <<<
Includes:
PlayOnline/FFXI install.
7zip for unpacking files. (x32 & x64)

Era POL.exe loader. - No longer needed
2010, 2012, 2013 vcredist files.
Windower 4 setup executable.

>>> Era Patching Resource torrent <<<
Includes:
9/2014 Client Update (Hastens the update time of you client.)
Upgraded Maps that mirror wikipedia maps. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Step 1: Preparing for install!

① Open Era-Install-Resource and install all of the 'vcredist' files in order from 2010 to 2013. (once these have downloaded) or simply download them here for a quicker install for later on
PLEASE NOTE: install your microsoft visual c++ redistributable in ascending order. "2010, 2012 then 2013" you only need x86 versions.

Step 2: Installing PlayOnline/Final Fantasy XI.

① Unpack the game installer: FFXI Seekers (all).7z
Included in the Standard Installation Programs folder is 7zip - which will allow you to extract the files if you cannot do so already.
To determine whether or not you are running x32 or x64 visit >>> whatsmyos.com <<< or just run the x32 version

② When everything is extracted run FFXISETUP.exe
This install is fairly large - so be advised.
Follow the prompts on the screen as there are several to complete installing base FFXI and all of its expansion packs.

Step 3: Prepwork before updating PlayOnline.

① Find your way to 'Era-patches-resource' that you downloaded earlier.
Right click and extract the files.
This may take some time

② Go to your PlayOnline folder and run POL.exe.
the typical default location is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer\pol.exe"
*** This will prompt playonline to update: ALLOW IT. ***

③ After updating your POL client you will see two options. Choose existing member.
The username and password does not matter! So simply type:
Username: 1234
Password: 1234

④ Once complete - close your PlayOnline Viewer

⑤ Find and copy the Data Folder at PlayOnline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer\data.

⑥ Next paste it to you Final Fantasy XI directory IN PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI.
You should now have the directory PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\data.

Step 4: Applying patches and updating FFXI.

① Take everything that unpacked from the Era-Patches-Resource file and copy it.

② Next, paste it to your to your Final Fantasy directory.
PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\
***Note that many files will overwrite. It's okay!***

② Locate \PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\0\ and delete the 0.dat file

③ Run POLboot.exe (in your ffxi directory) and navigate to the file check.

Use the menu to select Final FantasyXI.
Follow the prompts on the screen to a file check, this will then scan your current files and update them to new ones.

Step 5: Installing Windower4.

① Open Windower4Setup.exe
Let it do its thing!

Step 6: Era Launcher
https://www.dropbox.com/s/67w5yzjgmiifqmm/EraWindower.7z?dl=0
put the pol.exe here in your playonline folder to make this work with windower. remember to rename your original pol.exe rather than overwriting it.

Step 7: PLAY!

Open Windower 4 and follow prompt. You're good to go! Enjoy!
